Havant Council hits 1010 Target

Havant Borough Council has hit a 10:10 pledge to reduce its carbon footprint by 10 per cent in a year, a eucalyptus tree was planted to recognize the achievement.

The eucalyptus is suited to hot, dry summers and represents the adaptations that will have to be made to combat climate change.

The ceremony was witnessed by members of the Havant Friends of the Earth, Transition Towns Network and Havant Borough’s Tree wardens.

Council staff members have also made dozens of personal pledges to greener living.
