Join Jane Devlin, who’s the Climate Change officer for Havant Borough Council and has recently drawn up the Havant Climate Action Plan, which will be implemented by the new Climate Change & Environment Panel for Havant.

Plans for the Havant Borough Big Green Week are coming on well and include Eco fairs in Havant Park and the Pallant on 24th September. We’d welcome more events and offers of help. Contact [email protected]

Do take time to respond to the consultation about transferring recycled water to Havant Thicket Reservoir. This has already started and there a number of public events and webinars being organised including The Meridian Centre 16/7 10-4.

Friends of the Earth are very concerned about the new Human Rights Act and threats to legitimate protest and ran a recent webinar on Challenging the attacks on the Human Rights Act and protest rights. You can view it here https://vimeo.com/725972028

West Cumbria Mining is trying to build the UK’s first deep coal mine in 30 years – a project that would undermine the UK’s chances of meeting its climate targets.A decision on this is likely in the next few days so please add your name to FOE’s petition:  https://act.friendsoftheearth.uk/petition/stop-plans-coal-mine-cumbria
