Get rid of baths
Do not take baths, take showers. You will save about half the amount of water that you would if you were taking a bath.

Petition: Help us stop Havant Borough Council's use of Glyphosate based Weed Killer in our Area

Glyphosate, is the active ingredient in commonly used herbicides in most European countries and the US. and is promoted as a relatively safe, non-toxic chemical.

It may however be implicated in a range of health issues and was described by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 2015 as ‘probably carcinogenic’.

Some countries want to limit the use of glyphosate, and since 2012 the EU has been considering the future licensing, it is recommending restrictions on the use of glyphosate in public parks, playgrounds and gardens.

Like many councils Havant sprays glyphosate mixed with other chemicals in public places twice a year.

We, the undersigned, call on Havant Borough Council to end the spraying of glyphosate based products in all public areas, and request that the council would consider trialling a non chemical based solution at the earliest opportunity.

This petition asks the council to debate the issue in council and consider joining other authorities in developing non-toxic alternatives.

To have this petition debated by Havant Borough Council we need at least 1500 signatures. If you agree and live in the Havant Borough area please add your name to our petition.

Only Havant Borough residents need only apply
