The People’s Plan for Nature

Date: Wednesday 5th July
TIme: 8pm – 9.15pm

Following the BBC series Wild Isles, the World Wildlife Fund, the National Trust and the RSPB created a follow-up documentary saving our Wild Isles. This resulted in the Save Our Wild Isles campaign and a crowdsourced set of recommendations for nature’s recovery in a People’s Plan for Nature.

The groups collected ideas from the 30,000 members of the public and brought people together in a hundred strong assembly to agree a shared vision on how to renew and protect nature.

Axe the Energy Charter Treaty

Have you heard of the Energy Charter Treaty? It gives power to companies to sue governments if they pull out of projects which might affect the firms’ future profits. This includes divestment from fossil fuels.

UK membership has just been condemned by the Government’s Committee on Climate Change and the EU who is about to pull out so it’s an excellent time to persuade our government to do the same.
